When navigating through a jungle you must always follow 5 rules.
#1 One of the most cringe and overused but true piece of advice I can give you is to always be yourself even when its one of the hardest choices you have to make. The words that hurt you now cannot effect you in the long run, however the choices you make can.
#2 If you have ever had a friend that was negative or "toxic" but you kept up or still hung out with them because you "needed" more friends, don't waste your energy. Having a small group of real friends is better than having big group of fake ones.
#3 Popularity is not necessarily a vital occurrence when finding your place in middle school. I can assure you that even the popular group has beef with each other, so popularity isn't always a good trait.
#4 Anxiety is something all of us struggle with at this age. It does not matter if you wanna express yourself in new and exiting ways because at the end of the day nobody is going to care if you wear a new outfit or try something new with your makeup because we are all just busy with our own insecurities.
#5 Comparison is a thief, never compare yourself to somebody that may be "more liked" than you are. Though this person may look happier than you, and are " not struggling," looks can be so deceiving, everyone has something. An example is if you are eating a full plate at lunch and your friend across from you isn't eating anything, instead of comparing yourself to your friend wondering if your eating "too much" enjoy your lunch and let you friend make choices for themselves.
Overall middle school is hard for everyone popular, or not. If you follow these 5 tips your next steps through middle school should not be so rocky. But like always if you enjoyed this article read a couple more and consider subscribing to the blog!
